Atlanta Food & Wine Festival 2016
Georgia Grinders had the privilege of participating in the annual Atlanta Food and Wine Festival the first weekend in June. The Festival started in 2010 to spotlight Southern food and beverage traditions from Texas all the way to the District of Colombia. At the Festival, attendees are able to learn from award winning Southern chefs who offer tastings, demonstrate cooking technique classes and cocktail pairings.
Large tents are set up throughout the event for attendees to sample various foods and products from over 200 exhibitors. Some of the highlights this year were Bloody Mary Oyster Shots, Brisket with a creamy mac and cheese, Blue Crab deviled eggs, filet flatbread topped with a pesto spread, and braised pork lettuce wraps.
Over 2,500 attendees were at the event and a steady crowd visited the Georgia Grinders table
to sample our many nut butters offered at the event with jam pairings from Preserving Place. Attendees were thrilled to sample the nine different nut butters and excited to learn they could find these at Specialty Gourmet Food stores throughout the Southeast, as well as Kroger, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Spouts, and local Farmer’s Markets in Georgia.
When you think of nut butters, you often think of kids and the classic PB&J, however, the adults at this event were quick to grab a sample and state how much they loved the variety of nut butters we offer. We had many that could just not get enough and returned to the table several times to try another flavor. Georgia Grinders offers something for everyone’s palette and it is a great way for those with allergies to peanuts, to still experience the classic PB&J, by introducing almond, cashew and pecan peanut nut butters to their friends and family.
