Atlanta's Ultimate PB&J.....National PB&J Day

As the only craft Peanut Butter made in the Peanut Capital of the World, the great State of Georgia, naturally we thought that it was our obligation to create the Ultimate Gourmet PB&J to celebrate National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day.  This holiday is celebrated around the U.S on February 12th.

It only made sense for us to partner with two other Atlanta-based companies- H&F Bread Co. and Emily G’s Jam of Love, both of which are masters of the other components of America’s favorite sandwich to create two kicked up versions of the PB&J!

The first is a French Toast PB&J, which is made with heavenly light H&F Bread Co. Challah, Georgia Grinders Crunchy Peanut Butter and Emily G’s Triple Berry Jam. This dish would be great for breakfast, lunch or even a fun dinner- guaranteed not to generate complaints from your picky little eaters!

Enjoy the video and then check out the recipe so you can create one of these ooey gooey masterpieces at home!

Georgia’s Finest Gourmet PB&J French Toast Sandwich

(Makes 1 Sandwich)

For French Toast:

2 slices H&F Co. Challah Bread

1 egg

2 tbsp. milk

pinch cinnamon

pinch brown sugar

For Sandwich:

Georgia Grinders Creamy Peanut Butter

Emily G’s Triple Berry Jam of Love

Powdered Sugar

Place a skillet over medium heat and spray with cooking spray.

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, cinnamon & brown sugar. Lightly dredge each piece of bread through the egg mixture. Don’t coat too much or you won’t have enough egg.

Place bread in the skillet and cook for two minutes. Turn bread and cook for two minutes more and then turn again and cook for two minutes.

Remove the bread from skillet and transfer to plate. On the side of the bread that is fully cooked (the side that was cooked twice on one side), spread peanut butter, then spread jelly on the other piece of bread on the fully cooked side. Sandwich together and return to skillet. Reduce heat to medium low and cook sandwich on each side for approximately one minute until golden brown.

Remove from skillet, cut sandwich in half and serve. Top with powdered sugar and ENJOY!!!
